Bring your favorite drink and join the party!
OOYC is a Private Club for its Members and their Guests. Reciprocal Club members are welcome. OOYC has bar and restaurant service for its members and guests every Friday and Saturday night beginning May 7, 2021 and continuing until September 25, 2021. Reciprocal clubs members only need sign in at the door with their membership card when visiting our clubhouse.
First night fees are $20.00 US, the second night is no-charge. After that, there is a fee charged per foot.
The entry channel is normally maintained to a depth of 9 feet, but depths may fluctuate due to changes in weather, water levels and silting. If your draft is over 4.5 feet proceed carefully, especially late in the season. The harbor is normally maintained to a depth of 12 to 20 feet. Generally the western entrance to the river is deeper and preferred by most boaters.
OOYC is located about one mile upstream from the mouth of the creek, just south of the Lake Ontario Parkway Bridge. According to chart data, the bridge has an overhead clearance of 54 feet. Most sailboats under 40 feet LOA have no problems.
Any dock that will be vacant overnight will be considered for use as a visitor dock. Visitor docks may only be occupied by members of Oak Orchard Yacht Club, or members of other Yacht Clubs with whom we exchange reciprocal privileges. Should no docks be available, visitors will be rafted at the discretion of the Dock Master, Officer of the Day, Officer, or any OOYC member on the docks when the visitor arrives.
Preference will be given to our members when possible. Members of OOYC will be allowed to occupy a visitors dock for two nights without charge.
Visitors from Yacht Clubs with whom we exchange reciprocal privileges will be charged $20 for the first night’s stay. The second consecutive night is free. Beginning the third consecutive night, visitors will be charged $20 per night for up to two additional nights. Beginning the fifth consecutive night, the charge will be by the foot.** If possible, all arrangements and payments for visitor docks should be made with the Dock Master, the Officer of the Day, or any OOYC club member on the docks at the time of the visitor’s arrival. Visiting boats must be register in the Visitors Log Book. All visiting boats must display a completed registration form in a dockside port. Rafted boats will not be exempt from payment of any overnight fee.
Registration fee payment must be made in cash or by check. All registration fees, along with the registration forms, will be deposited in the white dock box. Envelopes will be provided for the deposit.
Organized cruises from visiting clubs may be exempt from dock fees for up to two consecutive nights, if advanced arrangements are made with the Dock Master (or his representative). OOYC members wishing to occupy a visitor dock for an extended period must make arrangements with the Dock Master.
In the event of special circumstances, a dock may be reserved for a visiting boat if the Club is notified in advance.
